One of my favorite topics of thought is how knowledge is stored in our species, and how we learn behavior based on causes that have nothing to do with our present reality, but they persist thru ritual and semiotic adaptation.
So⌠in fantasy worlds, when people use âmagicâ, it becomes a stand-in for âsomething âsufficiently advancedââ, and there were impressions during my life that led me to believe we would move towards that in an apparent way in my lifetime.
And then LLMs happen, and now I think I understand how it might happen in my timeline.
Couple: things
One: today I was kinda zoning out and stumbled upon a conceptual model of AI that accurately depicted the human experience. And then I realized why it could not be accomplished by humans living today, and relaxed. 
Two: âsufficiently advancedâ has always been the guiding principle, because we cognitive misers need a swarm to make big decisions while we individualize and be fabulous. 
Bonus: Fuck it, letâs jump into the unknown and be free! 
Personally, love is heavier than hate.
It doesnât match everyoneâs gravity, but it explains enough to steer by.
How much do you identify with Captain Marvel or Wonder Woman?
I ask, because I wonder: do we feel about superheroes the way our ancients felt about the legendary, mythical humans who walked among the gods?

Like a lozenge stuck in my throat, I feel the need to dislodge/share: Iâm not impressed by AI tech due to its output; it hasnât approached the fidelity of what I experience.
Iâm impressed by the mundane applications, which we can use to amplify the capacity of people making change.
Building upon the sentiment: Iâm delighted that Iâm now just a chatbot API call from copying any piece of data I can access. I can ask for amazingly complex curl commands and now worry less about certain aspects of digital platforms.
No one has been me before now.
