This topic will track configuring my family forums.
Plugins:
- Assign - it’s how I track personal chores
- Automation - sends reminders to chat, welcome messages to new users
- Post Voting - for choosing what to read/watch next
- Reactions - because folks want to react
- RSS Polling - we publish several of our blogs into a journal category
- Spoiler Alert - we share game reviews, and some details are marked as spoilers
- Templates - useful for recurring tasks
Components:
- Category Icons - makes the categories cute
- DiscoTOC - for table of contents
- Discourse Gifs - requested for easier gif adding
- Discourse Placeholder - useful for building quick menus to produce output
- Discourse Reply Template - useful for doing many lists in a row
- Tag Icons - makes tags cute
- Topic Cards - makes the site look like a group blog
Themes include Default, Fully, Ghost, Graceful, and Isabelle Crossing. I’ve been slowing moving folks over to Fully, while retaining the color palette from Isabelle Crossing, which looks nice I guess (I use Fully with default palette).
