The actual reason is two parts:
- I work at the host, and am confident in our overall backup strategy, and
- My personal laptop has been out of commission for about a year, where I normally save the backups
Now I’ll just move the backups to a syncthing share, and that should add in a bit of redundancy as well.
By triggering an API call on a schedule I’ll just get a link via email to download the backup. I should do this on all my Discourse sites to make it easy for me to do the thing.
