How to process all the media across spacetimes

I am interested in media, the output of creativity and industry.

There is an awful lot! Have you noticed?

Even within my personal archives, I have more than enough media for any single human life. And yet, I am still studying.

I do not care much about contemporary media, for several reasons:

  • In a word: marketing. I avoid new media leveraging the latest technologies and practically limitless money to seek my attention.
  • We have nearly 10,000 years of media to explore, rather than the very thin layer at the end.
  • Most media I would not recommend, personally.

To expand on the last point: I do not share the tastes of most people, based on sales data. Popularity is not an attractive attribute to me, hence my evaluation.

How to discuss media? I’m not sure, for me. I have a lot to say about some media and avoid a whole lot, so my notes will mostly be personal and not particularly informative.
